Abstract

The idea of considering techniques of people management as ‘fashions' is explored. The appropriateness of this approach is challenged alongside selected examples of management techniques, with emphasis on the dramatically changing demands on organisations and the people that will either ensure their survival or precipitate their demise in the 1990s
