Some Observations on the Dyeing of Worsted Pieces with Chrome Dyes
Abstract
The application of chrome dyes to wool pieces is described from the author's personal experience. The chrome-mordant process is considered to be of little value. The metachrome process offers a short dyeing time, which is particularly useful to the piece dyer. Faults arising in metachrome dyeing are largely avoided by the afterchrome process, and both processes give more satisfactory results when enclosed winches are used.
