The authors would like to draw the reader's attention to an error in the following article:

In this article, the authors would like to correct the description for institutional review board (IRB).

Methods: Study design (p27)

“The study protocol was approved by the IRB of each participating institution, which waived the requirement for patient informed consent because of the retrospective study design.”

It should have read:

“The study protocol was approved by the institutional review board of the primary investigator's institution, which waived the requirement for patient informed consent because of the retrospective study design.”

The authors recently discovered the protocol approval was unfinished in one of the participating institutions. After that, although the application resumed in that institution, the approval was considered to be unnecessary because the study used only anonymous data from the database for analysis.

The authors apologize for this error and any confusion it may have caused.
