Abstract

The neutral title complex, [{Fe({SCH2CH2}3N)(CO)-S,S′}2(μ-Fe)]·C6H6 or [Fe3(C6H12NS3)2(CO)2]·C6H6, contains two trigonal bipyramidally coordinated FeII atoms bridged by a tetrahedral FeII atom. There is disorder in one {SCH2CH2}3N ligand and in the solvent benzene present in the crystal structure. Dimensions in the complex are comparable to those in other five-coordinate metal–({SCH2CH2}3N) complexes.
