We were not aware that Baron von Munchausen had personally laid claim to the syndrome which bears his name though we would not be surprised if this had indeed happened. Nevertheless, whether it be ‘Munchausen’s syndrome', ‘Munchausen syndrome’ or ‘the Munchausen syndrome’, we feel sure that Asher [ 1] is having a quiet chuckle.
