Abstract

Abstract: As is the case with other forms of solid organ transplantation, success with heart and lung transplantation in the pediatric population was a natural extension of success with these procedures in adults. As a result, to review the history of pediatric heart and lung transplantation, one must by necessity review the landmarks in research and the events that gave way to successful heart and lung transplantation in adults.
