Abstract

On the basis of the magnetic properties the statistical homogeneity of the solid solutions in the Al2O3-V2O3 system is investigated. It is shown that the V3+-ion distribution in the ( VxAll−x)2O3 lattice in the range of vanadium content 0.0096 ≦ x ≦ 0.195 does not obey statistical regularities. Clusters of two and three exchange-interacting V3 + ions are observed in the structure of the (VxAl1−x)2O3 solid solutions.
