On the Optical Properties and Electronic Structure of Solid Solutions of (Ag_x/2Pb_1–xSb_x/2)Te Type

The reflectance spectra in the energy range 0.4 to 4.0 eV at 300 K and thermoreflectance spectra in the energy range 1.0 to 4.0 eV at 70 and 240 K of solid solutions of (Ag_x/2Pb_1–x·Sb_x/2)Te type for x=0.2, 0.4, and 0.6 are obtained. On the basis of these measurements some conclusions about the change of the electronic band structure with the composition on going from PbTe to the AgSbTe₂ zone are given.
