The valence band of osmium is investigated using an HP5950A ESCA spectrometer. The electron spectrum is compared with density of states functions from the literature, one obtained from a linear muffin tin orbital calculation for osmium and one from an APW calculation for rhenium.

Abstract

Das Valenzband von Osmium wird mit einem HP5950A ESCA-Spektrometer untersucht. Das Elektronenspektrum wird mit aus der Literatur entnommenen Zustandsdichtefunktionen verglichen, wovon die eine von einer linearen muffin-tin-Orbitalberechnung für Osmium und die andere von einer APW-Berechnung für Rhenium gewonnen wurde.
