Abstract

en

From experiment, it is known that the logarithmic derivative of the electron-phonon interaction parameter K with volume V is negative for the noble metals. A previous interpretation of this anomalous behaviour is based on the assumption that the Fermi surface distortions increase with increasing pressure. An alternative simpler explanation is presented in terms of the properties of the pseudopotential form factors.
