Abstract

en

For the purpose of the development and perfection of the resonance method which is widely used for the study of magnetoelastic coupling of ferrites, an investigation is made of the effect of inhomogeneous stresses on ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) parameters. Using computer the average values of σav at the compression of a spheric sample by concentrated forces for ferrites with different elastic values are obtained. (In the resonance method σav is used for the calculation of the magnetoelastic constants.) The elastic constants for yttrium-gallium ferrite-garnets (4πM = 200 to 1750 G) are obtained from the measurements of sound velocity by a pulse-phase method. The dependences of the influence of inhomogeneous stresses on linewidth and the FMR spectrum in monocrystals of diamagnetically substituted ferrite garnets are obtained experimentally and their possible mechanisms are discussed.
