Abstract

The modeling of the carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) for finite element analysis of wave propagation in plates from this material is presented. The random distribution of fibers in the matrix material is considered in a microscale model in order to properly capture the experimentally observed “quasi-continuous mode conversion” (QCMC).
