Abstract

For badly conditioned Non-Hermite eigenvalue problems known iterative refinement procedures often fail. It is proposed to use extra precise iterative refinement in a precondition step. As preconditioners the matrix Q from the QR decomposition or at least the matrix of - even not very accurate - eigenvalues can be used. (© 2006 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
