Abstract

Both the first-order second moment method and the Monte–Carlo method are introduced to elastic–viscoplastic block theory in this paper. The safety index of blocks, block combinations and the whole rock–block system can be obtained by establishing adequate limit state equation. Some slope safety problems have been studied with the proposed methods.
