Abstract

This article describes a smart antenna system with potential for vehicle communication system application. The system uses integrating low noise amplifiers with cascaded Butler Matrices. The system features high gain and narrow beam width output signals from the first Butler Matrix, high linearity, and broad beam width at the output of cascaded Butler Matrix and a capability for forming nulls in certain directions within the broad beam channel by switching off one of the amplifiers. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
