Experimental results of optically controlled parallel guide directional coupler at W-band

Optical control of the coupling characteristics of parallel guide directional couplers in image guide technology is investigated experimentally in suppression mode at W-band. Compared with previous designs, the control range of coupling versus illumination intensity is significantly increased because of a symmetric layout of the active section in dark state. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
