Abstract

Two band-stop techniques for UWB antenna design are suggested in this article. The proposed antennas have wide bandwidth enough to cover UWB services along with the band-stop characteristic for 5 GHz WLAN band. By inserting an U-shaped slot or attaching an inverted Y-shaped short-circuited stub, the band-stop characteristic is obtained. Prototypes of the proposed antennas are implemented and the parametric studies of the two band-stop techniques are performed. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
