Correction to “Umbilical Venous Volume Flow in Late-Onset Fetal Growth Restriction”
Hamidi OP, Driver C, Steller JG, et al. Umbilical Venous Volume Flow in Late-Onset Fetal Growth Restriction. J Ultrasound Med 2023; 42:173–183.
The descriptor “late onset” used to categorize the FGR patients in this study was incorrect since the study population contained a mix of fetuses with early and late-onset fetal growth restriction. This error can be corrected by deleting the words “late onset” wherever it appears in the article. * By retaining the accompanying initials “FGR” in these misleading sentences, the intended generic group of fetuses with EFW below the 10th percentile can then be properly labeled. Also, an erroneous sentence in the Methods section ** needs to be deleted. Six sentences need restructuring in the Discussion section: two under Comparisons with other Studies ***, three in the Clinical Impressions section ****, and one in the Research Implications section *****.
*The Title (1) Abstract (3) Introduction (1), Methods (1), Results Comment (1), and Discussion (9).
**Second paragraph, third sentence.
***First paragraph, second sentence “which is typical at this stage in gestation” should be deleted along with “after 32 weeks” in the first sentence, last paragraph.
****Third paragraph, in each of the first three sentences “late onset” should be replaced by “less severe.”
*****In the second paragraph, the first sentence should be restructured to read “limitation of studying FGR in a mixed onset group.”
We apologize for this error.
