Abstract

Two machines are described which have been designed to reduce the time and labour required for the planting and harvesting of barley trials. They are a commercial combine drill which has been adapted by the addition of an auxiliary seeding mechanism, and a small-scale harvester which has been constructed to operate from the power-take-off of a tractor.
