HOPS: THEIR VARIETIES AND CULTIVATION

Abstract

A brief description is given of the principal varieties cultivated, together with the usual methods of cultivation. This is followed by a review of investigations both past and present, carried out at Wye and East Malling, on these aspects. The subject is dealt with under the headings, Soils, Varieties, Systems of Training, Distance of Planting, Dressing, Pulling, Training, Stripping, Cultivations and Manuring.
