Abstract

Two new sesquiterpene lactones, namely 8-O-methylsenecioylaustricin (1) and epi-8α-angeloyloxycichoralexin (2), as well as a new triterpene glycoside (taraxasterol-3-O-β-D-glucoside, 3), together with the three known sesquiterpene lactones lactucin (4), lactucopicrin (5), and 11β,13-dihydrolactucin (6), were isolated from the stems of Cichorium glandulosum Boiss. et Huet. The chemical structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic methods.
