Plant performance of a coal-fired MHD generator
Abstract
The paper sets out, with reasons, the chosen values of the various parameters (air enrichment, air preheat temperature, magnetic field, duct length, duct velocity etc.) involved in the determination of the plant performance of a open-cycle steam-bottomed coal-fired MHD generator. The effect on the overall cycle performance of varying the important parameters in the system is considered. Optimum values of the chosen parameters have been obtained for maximum overall plant efficiency.
