Abstract

A novel hydroperoxide cembrane-type diterpenoid was isolated from the soft coral Sarcophyton crassocaule collected from the Xisha Islands in the South China Sea. The structure of 3 was established by spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis, named as sarcophyocrassolide A. It exhibited strong cytotoxicity against the P-388 cell line with IC50 value of 0.1 μg/mL.
