Abstract

1,1′-Bi-2-naphthol (1) was oxidized into q-oxo-13c-alkyloxy-l,13c-dihydro-dibenzo [a,kl]-xanthenes (2–11) with high isolated yields (58–94%) in alcohol solvents under the catalysis of copper(II)-amine complexes in the presence of oxygen. The conversion of 1 to 2–11 belongs to Domino-reaction.
