7The tender leaves of ripe Qinghao plant were taken from the green house of Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry. From 20 g fresh leaves, 45 mL homogenate mixture was prepared with about 42 mL Tris-HCI buffer (0.05 M, pH 7) containing sucrose (0.3 M). The mixture was centrifuged (3000 rpm, 15 min). The supernatant liquid was used for the experiments.

10[11,13-³H]-11,13-Dihydro-6-epideoxyarteannuin B (6a) used in the experiment was a mixture of synthetic 11(R)- and 11(S)-isomers. The amount of the 11(S)-isomer was not substracted from that of the precursor used in the arteannuin (2b) yield calculation.
