ChemInform Abstract

A synthesis of various quinolines is achieved by Cu(I)-catalyzed three-component condensation of aromatic aldehydes, aromatic amines and terminal alkynes. However, in a number of cases, non-cyclized intermediate alkynes are isolated as minor or even the sole product.
