ChemInform Abstract
A modified mesoporous SBA-15 material with interconnecting three-dimensional large-pore network is synthesized by high-temperature hydrothermal treatment in the presence of 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene (autoclave, 403 K, 24 h). The samples are characterized by XRD and HREM. The three-dimensional SBA-15 has many nanosized (2—8 nm) connections/tunnels, which are randomly distributed between one-dimensional channels. Improved pore—pore communication through the mesotunnels on the silica wall in the three-dimensional SBA-15 would facilitate diffusion and transport of molecules between the channels.
