ChemInform Abstract
Spherical Y2O3:Eu phosphors are prepared by aerosol pyrolysis from solutions of yttrium and europium nitrate hydrates (400—1000 °C) followed by annealing (1000—1300 °C, 1—5 h). The samples are characterized by photoluminescence measurements and SEM. The spherical phosphors have good mechanical and emission properties for device application. Optical characteristics of spherical phosphors are mainly dependent on synthesis temperature, activator concentration, particle size, and annealing process. The prepared spherical phosphors show comparable luminescent properties to the commercial product.
