ChemInform Abstract

In order to avoid potential problems arising from co-inhibition of lysosomal mannosidases, 3-benzyloxymethyl analogues such as (V) of swainsonine, a potent inhibitor of Golgi α-mannosidase II are prepared and screened against jack bean α-mannosidase. Preliminary results reveal that some of the products (no details given) exceed the activity of swainsonine.
