The new allylic amination of secondary allylic carbonates with N-(arylsulfonyl)anilines tolerates linear and branched alkyl and aryl and heteroatom substituents. The present method can be combined with ring-closing metathesis and radical cyclization reactions to synthesize dihydroquinoline and dihydrobenzo[b]indoline derivatives.
