ChemInform Abstract

The extract of lyophilized leaves of U. pendulinus furnishes E- and Z-venusol (I), 2-O-caffeoyl malate and isoquercitrin. The natural origin of (I) is checked by performing the complete extraction-purification procedure in the dark. In this case, only the occurrence of E-venusol (Ia) is observed.
