ChemInform Abstract

The novel bisnorkaurenic acid-type diterpenelactone (I) (mikanialactone) is isolated from the aerial parts of M. hirsutissima besides five known kaurenic acid-type diterpenes. Kaurenic acid, a major component of this plant, and (I) display inhibitory activity on the proliferation of peripheral blood lymphocytes, while some of the remaining compounds slightly increase the proliferation.
