ChemInform Abstract

The phase formation in the title system is studied by X-ray methods. Cu1-xNixCr2 (1-x)Fe2xO4 solid solutions with x > 0.5 are cubic and isostructural with NiFe2O4 (space group Fd3m). A tetragonal and a cubic phase of approximate composition Cu0.9Ni0.1Cr1.2Fe0.2O4 and Cu0.6Ni0.4Cr1.2Fe0.8O4 , resp., are found in the range 0.1 < x < 0.4. Phase transformations and structural relationships are studied.
