ChemInform Abstract

The coupling reactions of allylic compounds bearing various leaving groups with aryl magnesium halides using Ni(acac)2 catalyst in the presence of title ligands [IPF or (XIV)] are studied. The efficiency of the ligands are examined for the reaction of methoxycyclohexene (Ic) with phenylmagnesium chloride. In all cases except for ligand (XIVa), a higher enantiomeric excess of product (III) is achieved than with a corresponding ligand only having central chirality. Ligand IPF leads to the highest enantiomeric excess.
