ChemInform Abstract

The title compounds are prepared from M2CO3 (M: K, Rb, Cs, Tl), TeO2, MoO3, and (NH4)2HPO4 (1. platinum crucible, 673 K, 2. evacuated silica tube, 793—923 K, 20 h, addition of Mo for M: K). As revealed by single crystal XRD, the compounds M2TeMo2O6(PO4)2 crystallize in the orthorhombic space group Pbcn with Z = 4. Their structure consists of corner-sharing PO4 tetrahedra, MoO6 octahedra, and TeO4E trigonal bipyramids (E: electronic lone pair of Te(IV)). The structure contains [Mo2P2O14] layers which are interconnected by the TeO4E bipyramids. Intersecting tunnels are identified along the [100], [010], [110], and [001] directions.
