ChemInform Abstract

The titanium complex generated from TiCl2(C5Me5)2 and LiAlH4 proves to be an excellent catalyst for the selective hydrogenation of monosubstituted olefins (I) (14 examples). 1,1- Disubstituted, 1,2-disubstituted and trisubstituted double bonds [cf. (Ig)] as well as C-O bonds [cf. (Ie) and (If)] remain unaffected.
