ChemInform Abstract
A simple, new and broader route is disclosed to prepare chlorofurans (VII). During dechloroacetoxylation, reduction of the benzylic chloro group is observed with two educts. However, chlorofuran (XII) is prepared by a simple modification of the procedure. Additionally, this method can be used to synthesize 2,3-dihydrofurans as well.
