ChemInform Abstract

The mononuclear ruthenium hydride complex is prepared by a one-step procedure starting from a commercially available ruthenium complex. The same procedure is applied for the synthesis of derivatives of a related binuclear complex. Preliminary results on the use of the mononuclear ruthenium hydride complex in Murai-type coupling reactions are given. Most notably, coupling of (V) with (II) occurs readily to give a mixture of mono- and dialkylated products at 30 °C.
