ChemInform Abstract

Cerium-filled Ni-substituted CexFe4-yNiySb12 skutterudites, promising thermoelectric compounds, are investigated by magnetic and X-ray absorption measurements. The valency of cerium is found to be +3 independent of temperature. The Fe ions carry a magnetic moment only in the case of p-type compounds.
