ChemInform Abstract

The stabilizing effect of some transition metals on the formation of mixed cuprate oxides with anion-deficient perovskite structure is studied. Novel cuprates of composition Nd8-xSrxCu8-yMy O20-δ (I) (M: Ni, Co, Fe) and compounds of general formula Ln6-ySr2+yCu8-yMny O20-δ (II) (Ln: La, Pr) are synthesized using solid state reactions of appropriate oxide mixtures. Cuprates (II) are the first examples with manganese as element stabilizator. Data on the homogeneity ranges and lattice parameters of the cuprates obtained are given.
