ChemInform Abstract

The initial growth of CdSe, electrodeposited from a DMSO solution containing elemental Se and Cd(ClO4)2 onto a Cd-Au substrate, is in the form of thin (1.5 nm) epitaxial octahedral rocksalt-type nanocrystals. As the crystals grow thicker, a phase transition to a CdSe mixture with wurtzite and sphalerite type structure occurs.
