ChemInform Abstract

A general method for the synthesis of the title compounds is the treatment of enolate anions, in situ generated from allenyl ethers (I) and (IV), with aldehydes or ketones. Nonenolizable aldehydes such as (II) can react directly with lithiated allenyl ethers. Transmetalation to zinc provides access to acyl silanes from enolizable aldehydes such as (V). For the reaction with ketones, transmetalation to magnesium is optimal.
