ChemInform Abstract

Two types of intramolecular cyclization of enynes catalyzed by the title Ru complex are reported. The reactions of (I) and (III) show the substituent effects on the aromatic ring. The examination of (V), Z-variant of (IIIc), gives two products together with 22% recovered starting material. Treatment of (VI) under the same conditions causes isomerization to (VII). In the case of (VIII) without an electron-withdrawing group on the alkene functionality the compounds (IX) and (X) are obtained while treatment of (XI) in a similar manner affords only the E/Z isomeric silyl enol ethers.
