ChemInform Abstract

An efficient and highly stereoselective synthesis of the new chiral glycine equivalent (V), an advanced intermediate for the preparation of anti-β-hydroxy-α-amino acids, from (R)-(-)-phenylglycinol is reported. Its structure and configuration is corroborated by X-ray analysis.
