ChemInform Abstract

The regioselective hydration of acetylenic esters such as (XI) to the title compounds (XII) or (XV) in two different processes in good yields is described. The products are analogues of cyclopentane-based natural keto ester derivatives found in the Brazilian plant Otoba parvifolia.
