ChemInform Abstract

A macrocyclic malonic ester condensation with pyridine building blocks leads to new bicyclic title host molecules with defined cavity size. In radiotracer phase-transfer measurements this ligand turns out to be remarkably selective for Ag(I) cations while discriminating against Cu(I) and Cu(II) cations.
