ChemInform Abstract

A series of 2-aminobenzoxazinones such as (VII) and (IX) is synthesized. The compunds potently inhibit human cytomegalovirus protease in vitro and show antiviral activity. By changing the substituent at the 6-position both enzyme selectivity and plasma stability can be modulated.
