ChemInform Abstract

The rearrangement of 4-phenylthio substituted alcohols with tosyl chloride in pyridine results in general in formation of alkenes such as (II), (IV), or (VIII). However, some limitations of the reaction due to structural variations of the educts, e.g. (V), are also reported.
