ChemInform Abstract

A new synthesis of the trichlorosilane (II) and the trifluorosilane ( III) is presented. The dichloro and difluoro compounds, i.e. (IV), are obtained similarly. Some reactions of (III) with electrophiles, e.g. Br2, NO+ 2BF- 4 or IF5, and nucleophiles, e.g. EtONa, piperidine or BuLi, are investigated.
